Super Mario Land 6 Golden Coins DX is a highly popular fan-made ROM hack that upgrades the original 1992 Game Boy title into a fully colorized experience.

Key Features of the DX Version

• Full Color Palette: Every level, enemy, and environment has been meticulously colorized, similar to Nintendo's official The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX.
• Playable Luigi: You can play as Luigi, who features his own unique physics, including a higher jump and different movement.

Original Game Premise

In this adventure, Wario (making his series debut) has taken over Mario's castle while Mario was away in Sarasaland. To reclaim it, Mario must travel through six unique zones to retrieve the 6 Golden Coins that act as keys to the castle gates. 

The six themed zones include:

• Tree Zone: Filled with giant insects.
• Turtle Zone: An underwater area inside a giant tortoise.
• Macro Zone: A house where Mario is shrunken down.
• Pumpkin Zone: A horror-themed area with graveyards.
• Mario Zone: A mechanical area inside a giant robot Mario.
• Space Zone: Levels set on the moon and stars.
