Gameboy Advance non oem, Ninja Five-0 video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case just like the picture shows.

Ninja Five-0 (released in Europe as Ninja Cop) is a rare and highly acclaimed 2D action-platformer released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. Developed by Hudson Soft and published by Konami, the game puts you in the role of Joe Osugi, a "ninja detective" tasked with stopping a terrorist group powered by mystical "Mad Masks".

Gameplay Mechanics

The game is widely praised for its tight controls and unique movement mechanics:

  • Kaginawa Grappling Hook: The standout feature is a "Bionic Commando-esque" grappling system that allows you to swing 360 degrees, hang from ceilings, and perform acrobatic attacks.
  • Combat Arsenal: You are equipped with a katana for close-range strikes, infinite shurikens for projectiles, and powerful ninjutsu magic.
  • Weapon Upgrades: Collecting power-ups can upgrade shurikens into fireballs or lasers, though taking damage reduces your weapon level.

Missions and Objectives

Instead of simple linear progression, levels emphasize objective-based exploration:

  • Hostage Rescue: Every stage requires you to rescue hostages. Mistakenly killing a hostage results in a significant health penalty.
  • Key Collection: You must find colored keys to unlock specific doors to progress through a series of interlocked rooms.
  • Settings: Missions are set in various "terrorist situations" including banks, airports, harbors, and secret bases.

Legacy and Rarity

Despite receiving high scores from critics—including being named a "GBA Gem" by IGN—the game saw poor initial sales and a limited production run. As a result, it has become one of the most sought-after and expensive games for the system.
