Gameboy Advance non oem, Ice Nine video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case just like the picture shows.
Ice Nine is a first-person shooter (FPS) developed by Torus Games and released for the Game Boy Advance in early 2005. It is technically based on the 2003 film The Recruit, though it was rebranded after the official tie-in license fell through.
Gameplay and Features
- Mission Structure: Players take on the role of recruit Tom Carter, completing a variety of missions to stop the theft of a destructive computer virus called "Ice Nine" and uncover a conspiracy within the CIA.
- Tactical FPS: Unlike high-speed shooters like Doom, Ice Nine emphasizes a more paced, tactical approach. Missions involve shooting enemies, planting microphones, and using stealth to avoid detection.
- Arsenal & Gear: Players have access to seven real-world weapons, including submachine guns, shotguns, and a sniper rifle with a functional zoom-and-rotate scope—a rare feature for GBA shooters. Tactical gear like night vision goggles is also available for specific missions.
- Graphics: The game uses an enhanced version of the 3D ray-casting engine originally built for Duke Nukem Advance, providing impressive 3D environments and a smooth frame rate for the handheld.
- Multiplayer: Up to four players can compete in a deathmatch arena via a GBA Link Cable, though each player requires their own copy of the game.
