Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS is a dungeon-crawling RPG where the player, originally a human, awakens as a Pokémon in a world inhabited only by other Pokémon. It was released in 2006 alongside its Game Boy Advance counterpart, Red Rescue Team, and serves as one of the first major spin-offs of the core series. 

Core Gameplay Mechanics

• The Personality Quiz: At the start, players take a personality test to determine which of 16 Pokémon they will become (e.g., Bulbasaur, Pikachu, or Eevee).
• Mystery Dungeons: Most of the game takes place in randomly generated dungeons where the floor layouts, items, and enemy placements change every time you enter.
• Turn-Based Combat: Movement and battles are grid-based and turn-based; every step or attack you take allows the enemy to take an action as well.
• Rescue Missions: As part of a Rescue Team, you take on jobs from a bulletin board or via mail to save stranded Pokémon, deliver items, or escort clients through dangerous areas.
• Recruitment and Hunger: You can recruit up to 386 different Pokémon from the first three generations to join your team. While exploring, you must manage a hunger meter by eating food like Apples to avoid taking damage. 

DS-Specific Features

While the story is identical to the GBA version, the DS version includes: 

• Dual-Screen Support: The top screen displays the dungeon map or team stats, while the bottom screen is used for gameplay and menu navigation.
• Touch Controls: Players can use the stylus to navigate menus or move their Pokémon.
• Exclusive Pokémon: Both versions have specific exclusive Pokémon that can only be found in that version unless unlocked via Wonder Mail codes.

Plot Overview

With no memory of your human life, you form a rescue team with a partner Pokémon to help those affected by a sudden wave of natural disasters. The story follows your team as they unravel the mystery of your transformation, clear your name when falsely accused of a curse, and eventually attempt to stop a world-ending meteor.
