Gameboy Advance non oem, Metroid Zero Mission video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case just like the picture shows.

Released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, Metroid Zero Mission is a comprehensive remake of the original 1986 NES Metroid. Developed by Nintendo R&D1, it retells the story of intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran and her first mission to the planet Zebes.

Key Features and Gameplay

  • Modernized Mechanics: While maintaining the core layout of the original game, Zero Mission introduces refined controls, an automap system, and power-ups from later entries like the Power Grip, Speed Booster, and Super Missiles.
  • The "Zero Suit" Sequence: The game includes an entirely new story segment after the battle with Mother Brain. Players must control a vulnerable Samus in her Zero Suit, relying on stealth and a non-lethal stun pistol (the Paralyzer) to navigate a Space Pirate mothership.
  • Visual and Audio Overhaul: The game features supercharged, comic-book style graphics and remixed versions of the original's atmospheric musical themes.
  • Exploration and Replayability: Players can explore Zebes linearly or use "sequence breaking" techniques to skip sections. Completing the game unlocks Hard Mode and an emulated version of the original NES Metroid.
  • Connectivity: Using a GBA Link Cable, players can connect with Metroid Fusion to unlock a special picture gallery.

Storyline

Samus is sent by the Galactic Federation to Zebes to eliminate the Space Pirates and the parasitic Metroids they are experimenting on. After defeating the Pirate generals Kraid and Ridley, Samus destroys the mechanical leader Mother Brain. The game expands the original ending with a sequence where Samus crashes back onto the planet, loses her suit, and must pass a trial in the Chozodia ruins to earn a powerful new suit and escape the self-destructing mothership.
